With the oil Aga, Aga themselves recommend that the Aga be serviced every six
months. This can be dependent if the Aga is run continuously or if the
Aga is switched off during the summer. (If the Aga is switched off it
will not carbon up as quickly). An oil Aga should never be left running
on a low setting as this prematurely carbons up the burner. We generally
find that an annual service is sufficient.
Chimney Flue
We line chimneys with 4" flexi flue
liner. The 4" gives a better draw to the Aga Cooker. It is
important to line the flue as this is the method in which the burners'
products of combustion are conveyed to the outside atmosphere, as well as
giving the Aga a stable flue draught. It is mandatory that all gas
flue appliances must have a liner fitted. With the oil Aga it is not
mandatory to fit a flue liner, but it is good practice to have one fitted
for the same reasons as mentioned above.

Refurbishing
As opposed to purchasing a reconditioned
Aga Cooker we can refurbish your existing Aga. This can only really be
priced correctly with direct contact with myself or Sue and a possible site
visit to be carried out, as there are many elements to this work which can
alter the cost dramatically i.e. changing the top and lids can have a
dramatic effect on the look of the Aga and sometimes this is all that is
needed to transform the Aga from looking old and worn out. The
exchanging of the top and lids can usually be carried out with very little
disruption.... On the day we would arrive with replacements and carry out an
immediate exchange and leave the Aga ready for use.
Alternatively the Aga may need fully
re-enameling if a change of colour is required or the Aga is looking worn
and chipped. In some cases we can carry out a direct exchange, or if
preferred the Aga can be dismantled and the front and lid enamel parts be shipped
to our Enamellers.
Towel rails or chrome domes if they
become tarnished can be replaced with new.
Black vitreous pipe can be exchanged.
Dismantle and Re-Site
On many occasions our customers require
their Aga to be moved either internally or to another premises.
Pricing of
this is dependent on different aspects such as, distance to travel and time
between dismantle and reinstallation i.e. can the Aga be moved and
reinstalled on the same day thereby negating the need for a second visit.
Site preparation work which may be required to be carried out, again the
pricing of this work would depend on how much preparation would be required
i.e. resiting the fuel line, flue work etc. A site visit would need to be
carried out.
